1st entry.
Cycling to workplace on two different tire pressures was indeed a
amusing experience. The front tire has less pressure than the rear, and the rear tire has more pressure than the front tire.
when cycling to meet some friends for outing,my rear tire punctured. and i couldn't go. Haha.
Nothing much, but a good bike could take anyone to anywhere in singapore.(except for the expressways.)
MTBs VS Road Bikes.
road bikes obviously have advantages over the MTBs.
thin tires(slicks)
weight
Aerodydamic handlebar position. high gear ratios for cruising downhill.
MTBs
knobby tires(can ram grass if there is need to)
low gear ratios(can go fast if you can pedal fast,on uphills and straights)
rugged
can do stunts
that's for now...
a full frame is probably better than a foldable, as the frame allows for higher speed with less effort, compared with a foldable, which is heavy on hills and slopes.
riding on the road.
cars, lorries, SBS buses, Trans island buses, vans, motorcycles, and others.
cars give a higher rating of horning at cyclists, SBS buses do give one every now and then.
wear a helmet. for protection. guranteed, some of you will say,"it not necessary...it's hot and uncool...i always ride carefully one!"
what is an accident?
one that comes unexpectedly, without any warning at all.
valuing your life means you wear helmet for road riding.
Lights.
Much has been said about this.
a rear Red light is compulsory...a fine/warning will be given if TP sees you without any lights on the rear.
the rear light is to let you be seen by vehicles behind you.
